PROJECTS

The State School of Finance and Management provides training to 570 students in eight different subjects such as Banking and Insurance, Customs and Excise Administration, Accountancy, Financial Management, Business Administration, etc.

Since 1996 a lot of successful projects have been completed (Business Curriculum (1997), SPA project (2000), Leonardo da Vinci -Communication Systems in Management Today (2004), Socrates, Comenius - Festivals and Holidays in Europe (2005), others are still in progress(Staff Management in Small and Medium Business (2006), E-twinning Being E-friends (2007) and some new ones are under consideration (Comenius LLP - Motivating students to learn foreign languages and another E-learning project). Both the teachers and students work in close cooperation and achieve remarkable results.

Business Curriculum (1997)

In 1996/1997 the American volunteer Kitty Mazzarela, who taught English at our school, and Ilonka Nestorova -  a teacher-trainer from the same school,  successfully completed a project addressing the needs for better teaching  materials and methods. The grant provided the school with $1,350 with which to purchase books for teaching Business English and for the development of a New Business Curriculum.

SPA project (2000)

In 2000/2001 another American volunteer - Kristin White -  and her Bulgarian counterpart Nelly Tsvetkova working with Mihaela Karamfilova and Ani Andreeva - helped the school with the second SPA project for creating a computer laboratory. With the money we got from the Small Project Assistance Program (thanks to the American Peace Corps in Bulgaria) - six computers, a printer and a scanner were purchased for the new laboratory opened on June 8, 2001.
